mmmm.. Swedish Meatballs! Today one of the groups during QM presentation talked about the Ikea restaurant: and they had to!! Made me drool constantly after that and I kept thinking of ways to squeeze in a trip down to Ikea this week just to sink my teeth in these. drooooooools

Rainy days. I hate rainy days. Have to carry my wet ugly umbrella around. Not very glam if you ask me.

Went for a huge buffet last night! At sakura. I used to think it sucks but nah, for $26 its actually alright. I mean the food's not SUPERB or what but you really eat your fill. When I ate my last piece of salmon I think I almost puked, seriously. Like really really going to puke already. Somehow I still had space for dessert though :)

Last week of school! Only 1 more project to go. Sigh thinking back on last sem, my last project ended like 1 month before exams and I had plenty of preparation time. Now, I duno man. Hopefully being consistent pays off :P

I think nobody realised but, technically, we only had 100 days of school this sem.

Too little?? Seems like forever?? Well, let's do some math shall we.

31 in jan + 28 in feb + 31 in march. Plus FA exam ends on 17th April, so that's 17 days.

31 + 28 + 31 + 17 = 107

Minus off all the myriad of public holidays we've had so far - chinese new year, hari raya - and we havent deducted those weekends.

So, yes. We only had 100 days of school. whoopee. And we have about another 25 days to go ;)

anyways i think i haf found my drive. after ltb's settled n done with, only

brokeback is so sad... i cried :(

heath ledger is really cute! but besides that, really very sad. how much
they loved each other and how they had to lead double lives just to get
through in 1970s America. but i was a bit confused for the last part,
couldn't tell if jack's wife and parents knew that he was gay. But still, SO
SAD that he died just like that. And all is left is a deceased postcard.

okay yesterday was pretty tumultuous. rather melodramatic in fact. but yeah we managed to make up after that :)

it is our 6th month together!!! i got a surprise rose bouquet heh :P thanks dear! he bought one for my mom too. then we nua arnd until 8pm, went to vch to watch my lao ma's choir concert.

Surprise surprise, i met janice there!! haha her mum just joined SPH choir too. Saw nellie (k) and he called me a traitor!!!!! how can!! im no traitor ok jus cos i nv go xiamen. hmph. oh nellie c was there too, singing for consort but i didnt manage to see him off stage. oh well. was wondering if the rest of the chorale gang was there to support him as well?

After that went for supper w my mum and zm. so funny like my mum actually wanted to go for supper with us hahaha :P went back and talked with zm till about 3am!! then i drove him back to yishun where we had supper to make sure i wouldnt fall asleep on my way back haha. slept at 4. without bathing. oops :P

It's March 16. 3 months into school, Week 11 already.

Caught up in the whirlwind of it all...sigh

Actually this sem is already not as hectic as last sem was but it's the time
of the sem when you feel jaded and lose your direction and stop paying
attention during meetings because you are

1) daydreaming

2) doing some other thing that is related to the project but not to the
discussion at hand cos u feel the discussion is going round and round and
leading nowhere so you decide to start on something more productive but end
up getting criticised for not being participative in the discussion and not
being respectful (That was 1 longggg breath!)

3) playing with your hair

4) smelling your hair

5) realising that it smells quite gross. not gross in a smelly way but just
gross in the unwashed way. and you gotta hurry home to wash it.

6) dreaming about your escape to redang in MAY (which seems like such a long
way away...) with your favouritest person in the world - mr goh

7) worrying bout how much stuff there is outstanding. but not actually doing
them or motivated to do them.

8) checking moleland.blogspot.com and moleland14.livejournal.com/friends
every so often just to see if friends have tagged/blogged and to update them
about their wonderful exciting lives in the UK and in australia and in the
US and what not

9) thinking about sick freako tuition guy who just sms-ed me again. "Hi r u
a tutor". like, fuck off! to read about said sick freako tuition guy, pls
scroll below

10) blogging this.

1104pm: received a call. Unknown number. I pick up. Someone calls enquiring for tuition, the voice sounding pretty old. So I thought it was a dad.

Then, he requested for Chinese Tuition for himself, because he claimed to be Indonesian Chinese requiring Chinese tuition. Okay.

So, small talk about prices, experience etc continues.

Then we talked about location. He mentions somewhere peaceful, somewhere quiet. He asks where I'm studying. I say SMU. "Ohhhhhhhh."

He says he drives, so maybe "I could pick you up from your school and go somewhere eastward."

So, I asked about the location. "Hmm.. How about… EAST COAST PARK, it's quite peaceful!" I said no, lighting very bad not conducive for studying. "Oh, not even for conversational? At the start we don't need to study or any materials right?" Again I declined.

"HOW ABOUT JUST IN MY VEHICLE?" fuck la. I said no and put down the phone.

The freaky thing is 1. how he knew my name 2. how he got my number 3. how he knew my intention - tuition. Like fuck la. (keith style.)

Okay I know yesterday I kinda stupidly put my number on my blog but now its gone and hopefully I dun get any more crank calls like that.

what was supposed to be an island retreat has been converted into a meaningless and pointless cash cow. what then, is the purpose of this? Are we providing a service to the school or are we providing a service to our service providers?

I'm an idealist, and i do things without heed of consequences.
But at least I'm less of a headless chicken.

Today me and phuong had a realllllly deep discussion about drive and determination. We both used to have that drive in us, u know, that determination to make good and excel in everything we do and like become damn high flyers and rich business people. But somehow along the way during that race, we lost that drive and we wonder where it went.

And then this led to the discussion of what were we gonna do next time. Conclusion: become lazy and just wanna get married. Hahahahaha.

I've also been thinking what I'm good for, reallllly good for. I mean:

1. I like music. But my music's only okay. NOT
2. I cant do sports. NOT
3. I study well but I don’t really learn what I'm studying. NOT
4. I.. I'm not really a leader. NOT
5. I'm not some socialite or party animal. NOT
6. I study well! YES!

Ngeesh once said that I'm the best exam-taker around. So, im good for taking exams! Ahahahaah but how?What job allows me to take exams constantly (haha)
Suggestions put forth include becoming a Prof (PhD in QM!), when SUDDENLY! IT HIT ME!

I'm good for being a tuition teacher.

China, despite being the fastest growing economy in the world, is also faced with the fastest growing plague of problems.

From today's papers, they have a third of the world's smoker populations. this will lead to increasing healthcare costs and general poor worker health. China also has a growing AIDS population as 'liberisation' takes place. Due to the uber-effective one child policy, Chinese population has a low replacement rate and will in effect have a greying population within the next few decades.

Pollution levels in China are higher than that around the world, with their booming industries churning poisonous gases in the air that affect not only their own citizens but also the rest of Asia, because these gases dont disperse and form a floating toxic cloud that puts the rest of us in danger. Recent harbin water pollution incident is a testament to the Chinese authorities not giving a hoot about the environment and more in favour of economic development.

It's quite sad that they dont really understand that economic development must take place hand-in-hand with other social and/or political development. concern about environment and the people's welfare is crucial. being too hungry can have its consequences. You might end up eating more than you can swallow, then choke and die.

just read wannie's blog i totally agree with her. communication is so important, better not keep things bottled in.

well, this is my avenue of not keeping things bottled in right? :) Free Nelson Mandela. haha:P

anyways had a good swim in the morning, after that went out for lunch w york and ginny and had to trawl orchard with her to get her si gina's present! grr. yup but anyway ;) i tried the food republic hokkien mee. its alright only leh like average, i've tasted equal if not better stuff out there. but the queue's always long even at 330pm on a friday afternoon.

then dive meeting in school,longggg and tedious discussion came to a conclusion: status quo. but we'll try out other operators for small trips that we are making. hmmmm. we'll see how that goes eh? was making eyes at rean THROUGHOUT the entire meeting, and apparently he told me that shang was facing some problems with a certain person while working with him. but for political reasons we couldnt bring up that problem la. will surely be shot deAD in the foot for that.

AND THEN! and then and then. we had a barbecue in the middle of campus green!! hahahah there was that face off! band thing going on and there were lots of people and people were walking by us thinking we were burning worksheets or something (or some cult perhaps) but we were actually bbq-ing satay and sausages (that was ALL that was on e menu man) which was quite fun eventually :) starting to get more comfortable with the dive team, which is a gd thing! and they suggested another trek! i gian! but mt k. leh in sabah. must take plane! which means will be ex. consider consider.

long post. feeling very blah and dun wanna mug.
i really wanna go and take 2b so that i can transport myself around. its really a very efficient and cheap mode of transport. i will start earning money by taking on tuitions.
