http://news.asiaone.com/News/The%2BStraits%2BTimes/Story/Language%2Bhitch%2Bcosts%2BGoldman%2Bexec%2Bkey%2Bpost.html

Top of the news: Language hitch costs Goldman exec key post

You can click to read the full article, but it basically talks about Mr Richard Ong, a Malaysian Chinese who was rejected from the post of CEO of a Beijing-Goldman joint venture because his chinese cmi. More specifically, the chinese govt put in place a sort of "language test" requirement which potential CEOs, deputy CEOs and heads of supervisory boards working in chinese securities firms have to pass in order to take the top job.

So kids, this is a lesson on why you must learn your cheng yus, zhao jus and ci yu shou ce ok!

ps. the top job finally went to a chinese national.

Oh. for anyone who cared, i just passed my 1,500 posts mark! yipee.

Anyways putting some lyrics here because they are nice jazz songs to remember by:

Too late now to forget your smile
The way we cling when we danced awhile
Too late now to forget and go on to someone new

Too late now to forget your voice
The way one word makes my heart rejoice
Too late now to imagine myself away from you

All the things we've done together
I relive when we're apart
All the tender fun together
Stays on in my heart

How could I ever close the door
And be the same as I was before?
Darling, no, no I can't anymore
It's too late now

All the things we have done together
I relive when we're apart
All the tender fun together
Stays on in my heart

How could I ever close the door
And be the same as I was before?
Darling, no, no I can't anymore
It's too late now

Too late now
--Jane Monheit

And another one!

I get along without you very well
Of course, I do
Except when soft rains fall
And drip from leaves
Then I recall
The thrill of being sheltered in your arms
Of course, I do
But I get along without you very well

I’ve forgotten you just like I should
Of course, I have
Except to hear your name
Or someone’s laugh that is the same
But I’ve forgotten you just like I should

What a guy
What a fool am i
To think my breaking heart
Could kid the moon
What’s in store
Should I fall once more
No, it’s best that I stick to my tune

I get along without you very well
Of course, I do
Except perhaps in spring
But I should never think of spring
For that would surely break my heart in two

What’s in store
Should I fall once more
No, it’s best that I stick to my tune

I get along without you very well
Of course, I do
Except perhaps in spring
But I should never think of spring
For that would surely break my heart in two

--Billie Holiday

Nice songs!

Robots in disguise!!

It had ALL the ingredients of a summer blockbuster!!! Action, hot girls, lame lines but as much as i hate to admit it, it was a good one.

Although it was product placement heaven! Nokia handphones, Panasonic SD cards, chevrolet and porsche fast cars, general motor trucking trailers. Overdose!!! hahaha but yes, as i quote rina - i want all my things to transform too! :P
