and now i know the reason for the emo-ness...

the period just came! yes. so that explains the emo-ness and the not-able-to-sleep-ness. i slept at 330am cos i just couldnt sleep, once again, thinking about 'the future'. its just that coming on exchange has been such a huge eye opener, you meet so many people with illustrious backgrounds and vast spans of knowledge (they know everything!) and then when you look at their birthday you're like what???! 1986 also? its just a huge wake up call. like others are so accomplished, confident and wellspoken in 3 or 4 different languages and here i am struggling even with chinese. i feel so.. lousy. :(

i really envy those who have a real drive in life and know what they want (once again). and here it's full of such people. WHU is not a normal school - its a private school AND a full business school so everyone here comes from at least an upper middle class German family and everyone knows at least 3 or 4 languages. its scary. everyone is so well travelled, knowledgeable about the world and europe, and in the class they bring plenty of financial and economical knowledge as well.

of course there are the country bumpkins. (read: americans). ok they're not really country bumpkins but its just amazing how they really think that the world revolves around their country and all they can ever talk about is the US. i was talking to val and it seems they have such people there as well - people who think the world of US and all they can do is talk about it. Nothing outside it matters. And its also FUCK irritating when someone (the country should be pretty obvious) says "are your classes in Chinese??". oh gosh. i mean these people arent stupid, cos academically they must be pretty strong in order to go into a masters program. obviously they have plenty of academic experience, as well as with finance and very good with numbers etc but they really duno how to behave socially. i mean even if u wanted to ask such a question you should go like "so what language of instruction is used in singapore?" or sth more tactful i guess. just imagine the question being asked in that really strong accent twang and u know what im talking about.
