Sitting at booth is depressing.

Sometimes you're alone.
You watch as the area fills with people milling around, many of them avoiding your gaze as though you are holding a donation can.
Friends suddenly do not recognize you, walking past as brisk as they can.
You see how other booths (a certain w******** booth in particular) are so filled with people and wonder, now, why isn't my booth like that?
You see a half empty list in front of you.
You set up. You close shop. The list remains half empty.
You have people making empty promises of "I'll come back" and "Yes I'll get back to you".
You sit there without lunch. Or handphone reception.

New items on the to-buy list! Yes i was terribly influenced at the Dior beauty workshop the other day. This product is quite amazing:


Diorshow powder! Blush in a really cute packaging. I like.

2. Spot Corrector - Acnopur by Biotherm. Ginny recommends it. I think her skin is quite flawless so hmm no harm trying plus SMU got Biotherm outlet so can get discount teehehe.

But it's $38! quite ex leh.

3. Sunscreen! The Dior people got me worried about not wearing any because one of them says she used to dive a lot and she didnt look after her skin and regret like hell after that. so. Yes. Sunscreen. Best advice in the world.

I really don't have much to blog. hmmmm.. how about today? Sent bubu off :( sad. she cried. Another friend's off to UK now. I wish I could go overseas too.. got me thinking about my exchange / summer study options. Hmm. better plan early.

There are some things i shouldnt say.. and i guess i won't, you never know who's reading this. Maybe i shouldnt be so pissy and bitchy and learn to control a bit. And also learn not to be so enthu and do so much when so little appreciation is given.

I am fucking pissed. RO sucks!!! Let me tell you my story.

First of all, you all know I'm from a particular school. I'll try not to name names here. Here's the timeline.
1) Probably around 2nd or 3rd week into school, i discover that my matriculation card is spoilt. I can't enter the gantries, group study rooms, everything. I approach X security card at School of X, asking him for help. He tells me: "Go to the Fire Command Centre, Library block, first floor."

2) So I head to the FCC, with Ginny I remember. This malay guy, m**** (I can't remember his name, let's just call him M), comes out to help me and tells me he'll get back to me.

3) I head up to the library and pack up my stuff, ready to go out with Ginny. M comes up to the library, looking for me. He says: "I need more time to check the card. I'll give you a temporary card in replacement. Just fill in this form." So okay. I get the blue temp card.

4) In between I lost the blue card and found it again but never mind that. Basically I still have my blue temp card, the FCC has my white spoilt matric card.

5) I received an email from a particular person, L from the RO's office. Telling me to go down: "I understand from the security office that there are some problems with your SMU student card.
Please bring back the faulty card to the Registrar's Office and we will do a re-print of your card. My office is located at Admin Building, Level 8."

6) I head down to FCC to meet M, to collect back my faulty white card. And i return the blue card.

7) This morning, at 1115am, I head down to the RO's office. This L still got the CHEEK to tell me:
"Huh? Who told you to come down here?"
I said:"You! I received an email from you telling me to come to RO's office."
L said:"No, I gave instructions about how to go about making a new matric card..."
I said:"wtf la! (ok i didnt really say that)No you didn't! I never received any email."
Okay so L goes to check her email and verify that I should be standing there waiting for her. everything's settled. So I let down my hair, ready to take a new photo for my card. AND THEN! SUDDENLY! i let slip the fact that i have been using the card for 2 weeks before it spoilt. AND THEN! this L person. Says: "Oh. you'll have to pay for a new card as though you've lost it. thirty-five dollars. Since you have been using it for 2 weeks, that means the chip is still inside. We will only do a replacement if it is a manufacturer default and there is no chip in the card. Since there is a chip in you card, the spoilage is probably due to Wear and Tear and you will have to get it replaced at a FUCKING THIRTY FIVE DOLLARS!!!!"

I was damn pissed off lar. firstly, it's only 5th week of school HOW THE FUCK do you have WEAR AND TEAR in your MATRIC CARD!!! MY CARD IS IN PERFECT CONDITION I TAKE CARE OF IT AND KISS IT EVERYTIME I ENTER THE GANTRIES! DOES IT LOOK LIKE THE SKIN IS PEELING? DOES IT LOOK SCRATCHED! WHY THE FUCK DO I HAVE TO PAY FOR SOMETHING THAT IS NOT EVEN OF MY FAULT! i didnt even do ANY FUCK to my matric card, and i have to pay for a new one. i didnt even lose it. FUCK YOU LA!

8) L tells me to head down to CIT helpdesk. I do so. CIT asks me to go BACK TO FCC (!!!). So i comply.

9) I head to FCC and PRACTICALLY SCREAM MY HEAD OFF AT THE FCC GUYS. I tell them:" Dude. I've been to RO. I've been to CIT helpdesk. It's my 2nd time coming back here. PLEASE DO SOME FUCK ABOUT MY STUPID CARD!" So they are scared of me. They tap the card against the reader. Nothing. No "Access Denied", no whatever. Just no detection. So, the big shots of FCC emerge from the room (I assume they are, because they are in shirts and slowly 1 by 1 came out of the room) and Mr Bigshot tells this guy in a polo-tee: "Go with her to RO to get a new card. Ignore the RO people la. Then come back to get the card configured."

10) I get a call from FCC telling me to collect my card. FINALLY!!

Dayang in term break.. Hmm sounds like a brilliant idea :)

Other mundane updates:
1) Got a new phone. Nokia 7260. Camera and FM Radio, trigger happy here I come!
2) Have finally removed the last bits of my fingernail polish (notice i said finger, not toe). Will paint a new coat when i have the time.
3) Went to Momo for the first time. Cool place, quite big though I think it lacks dimension, unlike Zouk's many steps and passages and corridors. Momo is just a flat piece of club. Music's good though :) Not too sure about the company, very old.
4) Mugging for biz law. I'm still stuck at Promissory Estoppel, oh how hopeless this is.
5) And.. the date to note is 17 Sept. Cos that's the date I said yes.

Update No. 2: I saw Denise Keller in Club Momo toilet!! She's damn tall and DAMN DAMN chio, and she was really really nice to take photos with all the girls in the toilet who wanted to take with her! wahhhhhhhhhhhhhh

But anyway, dive trip ROCKED. it was really the most fun i ever had on any trip, and i have many people to thank - most importantly my buddy, my roommates, my instructor, my dive masters and EVERYONE ON THE ADVANCED OPEN WATER BOAT! :) as well as all the smux people and the other boats, basically everyone la.

back to reality... Work is piling. MA quiz this friday. biz law (shiong ah!) tomorrow. BGS minor project presentation on Monday. AS assignment on friday. It feels like a never ending vicious cycle......

mood: shagged!

Got home last night at 630am.. totally broken i tell you. my body arrived home in 2 pieces - body and mind were separate! Yest i must say was one of the worst waiting experiences, and one of the shortest clubbing ones as well. waited for freaking one and a half hour outside cnb (to all my friends who cut queue: thanks ah! cos of you i had to wait so long!!) before they let us enter at 11pm, only to burn up and drop out at 130am. Music was starting to suck; i absolutely hate bon jovi in the club. it just doesnt go.

Left w chuixy and yt, sent them off in cabs then met calvin who STUPIDLY suggested go and watch mn movie. i almost died, fell asleep a few times during The Cave! But it was an okay show. cheesy plot and characters, as well as bad acting (very B grade horror flick standard!) but the effects were kinda nice, esp the way they filmed the divers! as we were saying, it's kind of a smux movie incorporating diving, bouldering, lead climbing and trekking. cool hor! but i loved the diving and bouldering parts especially, it was so so cool! esp this woman who bouldered up this vertical natural wall. i know it's not real but it's still like, damn zai lah!!

Zombied home, then woke up and went to meet beng to scout around for good camera deals. DAMN shag i tell you, bargaining with all the song brothers, and darlings, and cathays. the darling photo uncle was a EFB and was damn rude to us! turn off.

i met stacey lee poh fen today!!! :):) woohoo was so happie to see her after so long (beng said that our hugging was damn lesbian - obviously he hasn't met normal girls' school products like us!) chatted w her awhile and she's still the same bimbo. i think she became prettier though :D love you stace!

Oh. i met WILLIE today! this actor guy who did light years i think. or was it spin. i duno, one of those jc/university local dramas. He's damn cute in real life! and it turns out that he's from pioneer SMU batch.. wahhaah. he's very nice to talk to also, he ask me how's smu life and all that :P okay i'm raving. shh. get a grip on yourself, yes. Met him at this UAN (yes, it's chanks again) production that shiwei jioed me to go for.. quite lousy if u ask me. very secondary school production. Hmmm. but it was nice to get to know willie and toshi!

i am effing fat now, ate bak chor mee and 3 bbq chicken wings@ blk 85 with shiwei xavier n gerald, who was effing drunk! but it's really funny to hang out w them, haha. their silly jokes an all. :)

Oh yes! finally finished my MA homework (it's quite an interesting topic actually, hmmm.) and i can sit down and blog about the things i wanna do, the random thoughts that cross my mind, the things that i have been doing, the things that i wanna get. and so on and so forth.

In short, blogger diarrhoea! It doesnt happen very often to me so do bear with me please.

Things i have been doing!

1) Leading an active social life. Yes, i do not mean to act popular but i have been leading a very active social life. what do i mean by this? MSN-ing, of course. it is the bane of all professors and all students. it kills my concentration really. i never get anything done with MSN by my side. Okay but besides the point, a quick recap: today was lunch@circular rd (god knows what a freaking ulu and far place that is! thanks ah grace!), followed by comex scouting for printers, cameras and webcameras. and routers. and thumbdrives. then dinner with york and ginny! hi! waves! and of course concluded with a heated discussion with regards to THE CURRENT SITUATION now.. wink wink. Yesterday was dinner with Ben. and cramps + diarrhoea in the morning. Tuesday was.. hmm.. i forgot already la.

2) Mugging. DUH. you never see me in the library meh.

3) Basically bumming around school, slacking, eating a lot of snacks. shit. i do not wish to grow fat.

Thoughts that have crossed my mind!
1) Contrary to popular belief, kiasuism is NOT unique to Singaporeans. it is NOT a country culture. do you see malays being kiasu? do you see indians being kiasu (okay maybe sometimes but not all the time.)? you only see CHINESE being kiasu. I thought of this point somewhere on the train (remember ngeesh!) and i realised that it is the CHINESE that are kiasu. Not just singaporean chinese though. chinese everywhere are kiasu. That is why chinese dominate the US liquor markets. That is why the PRCs are so hungry and hardworking when they come to study here. That is why they push and shove in China. Kiasuism is a racial trait. One that is unique to us Chinese.

2) go nite biking with smux? i dont knowwwwwwww. im not that gd a cyclist. zhiwei did suggest blading. though i think we will be left in like 1km of dust before we even get to west coast.

Things that i wanna get (done)
1. A CAMERA + HOUSING! i need to get this settled asap. or else the longer it drags, the harder a decision to make.
2. My creative journal. that's one of the few assignments that i actually look forward to :)
3. Biz law project! Also quite an interesting one.

Aaaaand that concludes the blogger diarrhoea. see. it aint that bad.
